Hovde Dassow + Deets successfully resolved a case, just prior to going to commencement of trial, of an Indianapolis area woman who went in for a routine surgery on the tear duct of her eye due to constant tearing of that eye. During the surgery, the anesthesiologist intubated her her esophagus, rather than her trachea, causing her to go nearly eight minutes without oxygen. This former Social Worker who held a Master’s Degree suffered brain damage and is no longer able to work at her former position. A successful settlement has assured her a better quality of life for her remaining years.
Hovde Dassow + Deets successfully resolved a case involving an Indianapolis area woman who slipped and fell on the ice outside of a medical professional building after an event which was held there. As a result of the fall, she suffered a severe fracture of her left ankle which required placement of screws and a fibula plate. This then led to the development of deep vein thrombosis in each leg resulting in gangrene of the toes of each foot and which required amputation of all toes on the left foot.
