Hovde Dassow + Deets successfully resolved a medical malpractice case on behalf of a Valparaiso resident who suffered a left femur shaft fracture surgery with intramedullary nailing and proximal and distal interlocking screws was performed. The surgeon failed to obtain an acceptable reduction, resulting in greater than 4.5 cm leg length shortening of the left leg. In addition, he failed to appreciate the defect and recommend or provide corrective surgery in a timely manner. Consequently, this Valparaiso resident had to undergo extensive corrective leg lengthening surgery.
