Beth obtained her Masters of Science degree in Nursing Science in 1990 at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis and was certified by the American Nurses Association in medical surgical nursing in 1990.

Beth's nursing experience includes working at patient care facilities such as the Westfield, Indiana Maximum Security Psychiatric Hospital, Central State Hospital, Veterans Administration Hospital, and Memorial Hospital of South Bend. In addition, she has worked at Welborn Baptist Hospital in Evansville and the Indiana University Medical Center. She was employed by the Hovde Law Firm as a Legal Nurse Consultant and case analyst starting in 1998.
